Hello! Allow me to present to you, one of the prettiest fragrances for 2019 (thus far).
As a sister to the original "Girl of Now" (released in 2017) and "Girl of Now Shine" (released in 2018), here is "Girl of Now Forever".
I am so enamoured by this fragrance and packaging concept, so I have indulged in many photos.

"Girl of Now" and "Girl of Now Forever" are PR Gifted, Gratis.
Elie Saab is a Lebanese fashion designer most know for his jewel encrusted romantic "princess" designs. I do love the romance and detail of his fashion designs and this has translated very well into the design and concept behind his fragrances. Elie Saab first entered the fragrance market with Elie Saab Le Parfum in 2011. Since then there are about 29 fragrances. The packaging of all of them are like luminous jewels.
My first impression of "Girl of Now Forever" was that my mind was filled with images of a big fluffy sweet pink and glowing cloud forming into a rose. I think it is a very romantic fragrance.
I first detected rose, honeysuckle and lavender. There was a touch of juicy berries and maybe a bit of bergamot. Something like pink grapefruit. It is a sweet scent, sweeter than the original "Girl of Now". It is bright and cheerful. On first "sniff" it made me smile.
If you read my article https://www.teacupofmakeup.com/blog/fragrance-story-preface
you will be able to read about how I experience Fragrances. I guess, I perceive them in a different way as images fill my mind, and I start to get tactile and taste sensations as well.
"Girl of Now Forever" is generally considered to be a floral fruity. It was designed by perfumer Dominique Ropion. This well respected nose has designed fragrances for Burberry, Cacharel and many more brands.
The notes of "Girl of Now Forever" are:
Top Note: Citrus and raspberries:
Heart Note: Rosa Cassia; Rose-Blackcurrant; Patchouli;
Base Note: Cashmeran and Vanilla
Cashmeran was discovered in the 1970s and is often used to add a musky tone to fragrances. However it is known to be much more complex than that. It is said to impart rich spicy, fruity, chypre, balsamic and vanilla tones.
With all of these notes/accords, it is clearly a happy, joyous and sweet rendition of the original Girl of Now.
The bottle is so obvious beautiful. When I first held it in my hand, I felt like I was cradling a precious gem.
I am absolutely fascinated by the design of Fragrance packaging. There is so much thought that goes in to it. With a fragrance, you get hit by a beautiful sensorial experience, from the moment you you see the box, when you open the box excitedly, and when you first get to "cradle" the fragrance.
This is a very pretty fragrance and worthy of being proudly displayed on any vanity. This bottle has an inner glow and whilst it echoes the petal design from the original, it is still very unique with its gold and coral tones.
The box is extremely delightful too. You get both a visual and tactile experience from it. On the outside of the box, you get these beautiful flowers in different shades of pink and coral outlined in gold.
Inside the box, you see the "reverse/negative" side of the embossed flowers against the pale blue. You see, they could have done away with the embossing on the inside but I think it adds so much more.
From the photo above (which I took in daylight), you can just see the glow that naturally comes from within the bottle. It is a precious gem.
"Girl of Now" by Elie Saab is playful, spontaneous and in the moment. That Girl of Now loves to have fun and dances all night till the sun comes up. Described as a floral scent. Top notes are mandarin orange, pear and pistachio; heart notes are orange blossom, magnolia and almond; base notes are patchouli, cashmeran, tonka bean and almond milk. The bottle is GORGEOUS. A bit art deco; a bit now. When I smell it I see a champagne gold. Bubbly and fun. I feel that the inclusion of almonds and pistachios makes it quite different (have not come across that note very often in perfumes). The almond and magnolia makes it comforting. The mandarin, pear and orange blossoms (one of my faves) makes it light and refreshing. It smells so delicious, I want to drink it!
来自 Elie Saab 的新香水y, "Girl of Now" 是一种清新而清香的香水。 这款香水由橘子,梨和开心果组成; 中间色调是橙花,木兰和杏仁; 基调是广藿香,金羊绒,汤匙豆和杏仁奶。
With the fragrance industry, I can imagine how excited fashion designers are when they design the packaging and set the tone for the fragrance.
I think it is well know that the fashion industry and the fragrance industry have a very symbiotic relationship. I think most people in general who have a love for art, do appreciate haute couture as a form of art. Indeed to purchase pieces from fashion houses like Elie Saab and Chanel are generally out of the reach of most people. So when a fashion house releases a line of fragrances (which may cost up to $1,000 or more), it makes it more accessible to the general public. One can say that they own a piece of luxury fashion.
Just think of the iconic Chanel No. 5. It is so synonymous with the House of Chanel. It gave Coco Chanel another outlet to express her aesthetic. This, I believe, is also another creative outlet for fashion designers like Elie Saab.
Also, there is always a huge marketing campaign that accompanies the release of a fragrance with images and videos that are meant to convert the "scent" to the "seen".
It is also exciting to see variations on the theme like how "Girl of Now", has two sisters "Girl of Now Shine" and "Girl of Now Forever". I love how they tweak the original scent and breathe new life into it. It is like "how many ways can you cut a piece of cloth" - oh so VERY fascinating to me.
There are quite a few books and articles about this and I've picked one to share with you. It is a very interesting article by the Costume Society on the relationship that fashion has with fragrances. Click here to read it.
Original on the right and the Girl of Now Forever on the left. I treat every piece of Fragrances in my collection as precious jewels. I store them in their boxes and then into an airtight box placed in a darker and cooler part of my house. Leaving a fragrance out in to sun tends to oxidise it more and you might notice a very slight variance in the fragrance from when you first used it.
Coral petals and blue petals. The design is simple but oh so gorgeous and conveys that sense of luxury. "Girl of Now" has a "S" embossed into the cap which does not appear on "Girl of Now Forever".
Released in 2018, "Girl of Now Shine" is recognised to be an "oriental floral". It was designed by Dominique Ropion and Sophie Llabbé. It has top notes of pear and pineapple. Heart notes of roasted almonds and ylang-ylang and a delicious base of iris, jasmine, vanilla and patchouli.
So you can see that with each variation of "Girl of Now", they retain a sort of "signature" of mixing fruit notes with vanilla, and adding a different twist with the addition of different notes.
So I hope you enjoyed this article and found it useful. I'm pretty much on my social media platforms in some way or fashion 7 days a week. I hope you enjoyed this review.
