What Mor has to say about them:

"Discover our signature Fine Fragrance collection, MOR Botanicals. Immerse yourself in a scented cornucopia as we delve into the green and luscious, the spicy and herbaceous, to bring you a vibrant and uplifting collection of botanical fragrances. Each fragrance has been specially created with a concentrated formula to provide 4 – 6 hours of fragrance."

There are six fragrances in the collection - I will be reviewing the last two later.

My thoughts on Mor Botanicals Grapefruit + Sage Eau de Parfum

The Bottle: All bottles are the similar. Heavy glass with a black cap and black nozzle. The bottom is oval and the bottle is a bit like a petal shape. The only difference between fragrances being the vibrant sticker denoting the scent. The bottle is heavy and feels expensive. The "hand feel" is excellent. It sits comfortably in my hand. Each box comes with beautiful illustration designed by the team at Mor Boutique of the main notes of each set, Mor sent me some large cards with these illustrations and I am going to frame them and hang them on the wall as they are so pretty!

The Scent: Very fresh and juicy. An uplifting scent.

Mor describes Grapefruit + Sage as:

"Invigorating and uplifting, this nuanced fragrance is a refined balance of citrus and aromatic accords. Expect notes of sweet and bitter Grapefruit and invigorating Sea Salt, balanced with musky Ambrette Seeds and herbal green notes of Sage in this stylish and timeless fragrance.

Top Notes: Ambrette Seeds, Grapefruit

Heart Notes: Sea Salt

Base Notes: Sage, Seaweed"

I like the simplicity of Grapefruit + Sage. I can definitely pick up the notes of grapefruit and sage as main notes.

The Dry Down: About 30 plus mins in, the fragrance starts to dry down to its middle and base notes. You get an interesting savoury scent with the sea salt, sage and seaweed.

The Tastes: Delicious. The taste is definitely yummy juicy grapefruit with a touch of sage. I like to make a salad using grapefruit and whatever herbs I have plus some fetta cheese. This reminds me of that salad.

The Colours: Bright shades of orange with hints of green.

The Feelings: Uplifting and energising.

The Wear Time: About 6-8 hours. A solid good wear time.

Suggested occasions to wear this: Anytime you need some uplifting. Fragrances affect our moods, so this is a good one if you are feeling unmotivated and need a pick me up!

My thoughts on Mor Botanicals Blackberry + Vetiver Eau de Parfum

The Bottle: See Above

The Scent: I got the woody and herbal notes first. The fruits came a bit later. This is a grounding fragrance

Mor describes Blackberry + Vetiver as:

"A quietly confident scent, this unexpected fragrance combination is fresh and lively yet earthy and grounded. A zesty opening of Blackberry and Grapefruit is tempered with aromatic notes of Bay Leaf before elegantly finishing with an herbaceous and warm, woody base of Vetiver and Cedarwood.

Top Notes: Blackberry, Grapefruit

Heart Notes: Bay, Floral Accord

Base Notes: Vetiver, Cedar"

Vetiver is an interesting note. It is commonly described as "dry, earthy, woody, leathery and smoky". A bit like the smell of grass in a warm day. Vetiver is mostly considered to be a more masculine fragrance, and is used in candles, colognes and other scented products marketed to men.

Yes, this fragrance does have masculine type qualities, making it a unisex fragrance in my opinion.

The Dry Down: Again, it took about 30 mins or so to get the other notes coming through. My first notes were the vetiver, cedar and bay leaf. Then it gets rounded out by luscious blackberry and grapefruit and a bit of florals.

The Tastes: Definitely could taste the "grapefruit". In fact it was so evocative that my mind and mouth immediately recalled the texture and taste of grapefruit - those segments and little juicy bits. I only "tasted" a hint of the blackberry.

The Colours: To me, the colours ran more towards wood and earth tones.

The Feelings: Very peaceful and grounding fragrance. A bit like the feeling you get after a good meditation session.

The Wear Time: 6-8 hours.

Suggested occasions to wear this: This is a fragrance that works for everyday. I like the masculine qualities to it and I think it works well as a unisex fragrance.

My thoughts on Mor Botanicals Bergamot + Blackcurrant Eau de Parfum

The Bottle: See above.

The Scent: Relaxing and calming. Fairly sweet fruity and floral scent.

Mor describes Bergamot + Blackcurrant as:

"Allow this vibrant fragrance to transport you to a sun-drenched orchard. Fresh Sicilian Bergamot and Blackcurrant Liqueur blend effortlessly with sweet Neroli and Jasmine, while soft and smooth Patchouli and Vanilla give the fragrance an undeniable warmth.

Top Notes: Sicilian bergamot, Mandarin, Blackcurrant liqueur

Heart Notes: Rose de Mai, Neroli, Egyptian jasmine, Freesia

Base Notes: Patchouli, Woods, Amber, Orcanox, Vanilla"

My first impressions of this one was very good. I do love fragrances with bergamot, jasmine and lavender

The Dry Down: Also about 20 -30 mins. The patchouli, neroli, rose, jasmine and vanilla notes come through strongly.

The Tastes: Delicious! This reminds me of a yummy pie with vanilla ice cream on the side. YUM!

The Colours: More lighter floral pastel tones.

The Feelings: I love the feelings of happiness I got with this one. It is definitely vibrant and lively. A very cheerful fragrance.

The Wear Time: Though Mor conservatively estimates it as 4-6 hours, it worked 6-8 hours for me.

Suggested occasions to wear this: Oh when you want to feel alive and happy! Also a great everyday fragrance.

My thoughts on Mor Orange Blossom + Tobacco Leaf

The Bottle: See above.

The Scent: I was most intrigued by this one when I was unboxing the fragrances because of the mix of Tobacco Leaf. My father used to smoke (he did quit) when I was younger and I came to associate tobacco scents with his fatherly love.

Mor describes Orange Blossom + Tobacco Leaf as:

"Fresh, earthy and aromatic, this sophisticated fragrance is a sensual mélange of contrasting layers. Top notes of citrusy Bergamot and Tea elegantly meld with Sweet Orange Blossom, heady Jasmine and spicy Tobacco Leaf, while soft and smooth Guaiac Wood and Musk give the fragrance depth and intrigue.

Top Notes: Bergamot, Neroli, Tea, Timur Pepper J.E

Heart Notes: Jasmine, Tobacco, Orange Blossom

Base Notes: Vetiver, Gaiac Wood, Musk"

There are more citrus notes with just a touch of tobacco. The bergamot, tea and pepper are quite obvious at the beginning.

The Dry Down: Quite quick with this one, almost 3-5 mins in. I like the heart and base notes immensely. That floral, woody musky scent is fabulous.

The Tastes: Definitely can taste a dry orange peel taste with a touch of jasmine.

The Colours: Warm tones. Very cozy by candlelight vibes.

The Feelings: A feeling of comfort and coziness.

The Wear Time: Also 6-8 hours on me.

Suggested occasions to wear this: This I would describe as an Autumn fragrance. Very cozy and comfortable. I love anything with bergamot, rose and jasmine. I find these notes to be most comforting.

Overall:

Overall, I really enjoyed all of the fragrances. I think my top 2 were Orange Blossoms + Tobacco Leaf and Blackberry + Vetiver. These I chose as my top two because of the combination of interesting notes.

Any of these would make lovely gifts, and plus one being unisex - Blackberry + Vetiver, very likely gifts that will delight and thrill.
