In this Fragrance Story, I review L'OCCITANE's Rose Eau de Toilette.
Here is how L'OCCITANE describes this fragrance:
"The Rose Eau de Toilette is the very quintessence of the Rose of Provence. Effortlessly dazzling, it reveals distinctive notes of petals and others that are light as air. This luminous creation captures the rose in a new light with green and fruity notes interlacing in a naturally elegant, floral fragrance. At its heart, an enveloping Rosa Damascena absolute mingles with the softness of Rosa Centifolia floral water from Provence, for a delicate, feminine, lingering trail."

My Thoughts on L'OCCITANE's Rose Eau de Toilette:
The Bottle: Housed in an heavy long rectangle glass bottle, this feels very luxurious in the hand. There is a rose patter embossed in glass on the back which shows through to the front. It is an elegant bottle. The front has a simple sticker saying "Rose Eau de Toilette". The brand name "L'OCCITANE is embossed in glass on the front. It comes in a beautiful cardboard box with beautiful rose illustrations in pinks and reds. There is also braille on the back.
The RRP in AUD is around $89 which is quite reasonable for an EDT of 75ml.
The Scent: This is a very likeable scent. It smells fruity and floral. As an EDT, it is fairly light. he rose and lychee notes come out well and are grounded by the patchouli. This scent smells elegant and very french. I remember when I stayed in Paris, that there was a rose shop (and all they sold were roses and rose related products) a block or so away, and this reminds me of the quaint yet elegant store. This brings back fond memories of how the store owner would give me a rose every day when I passed on my morning walks. This was around the time Autumn had started in Paris and the leaves were turning red and orange.
The Dry Down: A lovely dry down to a sweet woody patchouli incense like scent.
The Tastes: Fruity and sweet. I love the lychee notes. The rose makes it taste a bit like pink musk candy sticks.
The Colours: Light tones of pink to red. Also, because it reminds me of the Rose Shop in Paris, I see the colours of light blue and fluffy white clouds (colours of the Rose Shop).
The Feelings: I feel elated and soothed. This is like a celebration of roses and it brings back some very happy memories.
The Wear Time: About 3-4 hours. This is a EDT so it does meet my expectations on wear time.
Suggested occasions to wear this: This is a good every day scent. Wear it out shopping, catching up with friends and even to work. It is very easy on the nose.
Overall: An elegant edition to any fragrance collection. The bottle is decorative. It would suit those who lean towards more traditional feminine scents.
