Hello Friends, here it is if you haven't seen it already. A swatch comparison of six of the Urban Decay ("UD") Naked Palettes. I haven't included the Naked Basics and Naked Basics 2 palettes, not because I don't like them but because I personally didn't see them fitting into this collection.
Each Naked Palette has 12 shades and a double ended brush. The brushes are lovely.
Except for the Naked Ultimate Basics, each other UD Naked palette has a mix of satin, matte and shimmer/foil eyeshadows.
From L to R: Naked, Naked 2, and Naked 3.
A side by side comparison of the first three Naked Palettes.
To me, the Naked Palette was the best out of the first three, as the shades provided suited most skin tones. The Naked 2 was a cooler toned palette, while the Naked 3 was themed around rose gold shades.
I actually quite like the Naked Smokey palette. The shades chosen suit most skin tones. Although it seems as though it is not as popular. Perhaps it could be that some of the shades could be duped? I'm not sure, but it is a lovely palette and we saw the first of the hard plastic casing in terms of packaging. UD did include a different double ended brush with this one. Unlike the first three, which had flatter brushes, the UD Smokey palette's brush was more domed shaped and perfect for smudging the eyeshadows. I quite liked this brush as it the larger end made it easier to blend out the eyeshadows.
There was much hype and excitement about the Naked Heat palette and to me, it did certainly live up to all the hype. Themed around the crimson shade trend that we first saw emerging in 2016/2017, the UD Heat palette did indeed include quite a few red toned shades. The double ended brush included was different from the ones in the first 3 Naked palettes and the smokey palette. Both ends of the brush were longer and suitable for blending colours than for precise application (which you got with the smaller flatter end of the brushes included in the first three Naked palettes.)
The first two Naked Basics palettes were quite good and I would often use them for neutral shades to blend out my eyeshadows. I like the UD Naked Ultimate Basics palette because it has a variety of warm and cool tones. For matte eyeshadows, the formula is "dreamy creamy". Highly pigmented and easy to blend. If you prefer matte shades, I would recommend getting this palette. Matte eyeshadows are harder to make and often can be chalky, but that is certainly not the case here.
The above swatched were done on white drawing paper and then I scanned it on my scanner. I feel that swatches on my skin would affect your perception of the colours due to my skin tone.
